Growing up, I loved spending time on the beach. Having a tan was a must! I would spend every day on the beach sunbathing to achieve that sunkissed look. There is simply nothing I love more than a good tan! As I got older, life got in the way of my beach days. It was hard to find time to enjoy the sun and get a tan. As a teen I hated that I was pale during the summer. I was looking for a quick and easy way to achieve the golden glow I wanted which is when I was introduced to tanning beds.
One of my friends, who went to the tanning salon all the time, said that it would only take 10 minutes in the tanning bed daily and I would be able to get the tan I was looking for. I decided it was worth trying until I learned about the dangers of a tanning bed. Tanning beds expose you to UV rays, which can cause premature aging, sunspots, wrinkles, and even skin cancer! More than 419,000 cases of skin cancer in the U.S. each year are linked to indoor tanning. With my family history of skin cancer, I knew this was not going to be an option for me.
Shortly after, I was introduced to organic spray tans and it changed my life for the better. I could finally get my glow on with an organic formula that contains antioxidants rather than expose myself to harmful toxins. Then came along my vision for glow girl. I love to do things that make people feel better about themselves, and sunless tanning is one of my favorite methods of doing so.
